Before enrolling in the is class, I didn't think that I had any experience with wine. Little did I realize that all of those $6 bottles of Andre Champagne from 711 I have consumed at tailgates are considered wine. I also have come to fancy drinking my family's expensive bottles of champagne with Christmas dinner. Other than these few times, I have reluctantly tried white and red wines but never truly gave them a chance. I came into this class to hopefully acquire a taste for wine as it is an important life skill.

In addition to wanting to become cultured, I wanted to take this class because of my brother's experience in it. My brother took this class two years ago and since then he has been drinking and thoroughly enjoying wines. Before he took the class, he had the same bias against wine and never wanted to drink it. Now, he is able to talk wine at business dinners and other such professional events that he attends. I hope to also have this skill when I make it out into the business world.

I grew up watching my parents love wine. Since I can remember, we have had a wine cellar in my basement, hand-built by my father. They had always explained to me how important  the temperature and sunlight is to preserve the wine. My uncle also loved drinking wine with my parents constantly bringing very old, matured wine. I have always been around wine, and I feel it's my time to learn about it.
